You want more organisation, but don't know where to start? Come on, let's do it together!

I'm Carmen and as a certified professional organiser I help you make your home more comfortable and your life easier.

“Help! I’m moving next week and I have way too much stuff.”

Does this sound familiar? It does to me. I've moved many times in my life. I've packed and unpacked hundreds of moving boxes, no exaggeration.

HELP

Moving with many moving boxes

My aha-moment. The birth of my daughter.

Before my daughter was born, I was quite "normally" tidy. Everything had its place, I tidied up several times a day, but I didn't give it much thought. It wasn't until I had a baby and had to juggle family, household and work that I realised how much energy it takes to constantly tidy up in order to live in a home where I truly feel comfortable.

That's not how I imagined it. I wanted to spend my free time with my daughter, not tidying up. I wanted to laugh with her, do crafts, play, and not be stressed because more and more toys were piling up around the apartment and I felt like I couldn't keep up.

A change of perspective. Or: 12 moves later

Moving with my daughter in tow made every move even more complicated. But every move also left behind an unopened box. A box full of things I apparently no longer needed. Things that were stored in the basement instead of being used in the apartment.

With each move, I became more thoughtful. More and more often, I asked myself questions like:

Do I even need this?

Wouldn't it be liberating to have to carry less, pack and unpack less?

What if I get rid of some of these things and literally shed ballast?

So I let go. Little by little. Box by box. Each move became easier – literally. And with every moving box I didn´t have to pack and unpack, it became clearer: the less I own, the more space I create. For family time. For myself. For new ideas.

My conclusion: Reducing decreases the mental load

Because I owned less, I also had to tidy up less, sort less, dust less and repair or replace less when something broke.

That truly liberated me. Suddenly I realised how much the baggage and the associated tidying up and caring had burdened me and how much time it had taken from me for the important things in life.

Organisation as an invitation to conscious living

Gradually, I came to understand that organisation is more than just a clean closet. It's a decision for clarity, both internally and externally. And it's an invitation to live consciously, free from things that only take up space, both in the room and in the mind.

This is something I still experience today with my clients whom I advise before a move: They consciously want to get rid of things in organisation to move into their new home with as little baggage as possible. Often, however, they don't know how to put this wish into practice, and that's exactly where I come in.

Less clutter. More clarity.

I've gotten pretty good at decluttering. Why is it so easy for me now? Because I've realised the value minimalism has for me and my life.

I now live by this principle in many areas of my life. Not out of principle, but because I can feel how good it is for me. I pay attention to living a resource-conscious life and try to make conscious decisions when buying and consuming.

Minimalism? Yes, please. Perfection? No, thank you.

Family relaxes in their cozy home

Minimalism doesn't mean your home can't be cosy or that it can't contain objects that are simply "beautiful", because they have meaning, because we enjoy them, or because they look so good on a shelf.

For me, it's more about reflecting on what I truly need in my life. It's about considering whether this item or that thing actually makes me happy, or whether every purchase ultimately just adds more baggage.

I incorporate this perspective into my coaching sessions. Completely without dogma, but with lots of fun and appreciation – for you and your home.

Reduce with sensitivity, not with a raised finger

Don't worry, I'm not a missionary. My goal isn't for you to completely turn your life upside down and own as little as possible – it's about helping you rediscover what strengthens you and what weighs you down. This is different for everyone, and together we'll figure out what you can keep and what you can let go of.

Create order, make decisions

Because it's easier together: I'm your organising sparring partner.

Let's be honest: Who would ever willingly part with 37 perfectly good ballpoint pens? That's why we do it together in my consultation: We prioritise, we declutter, we create lasting organisation. So that "I really need to..." becomes "I'm happy here."
