“Help! I'm moving next week and have far too much stuff.”

Does that sound familiar? It certainly does to me. I've moved many times myself, packing and unpacking hundreds of moving boxes, no exaggeration.

HELP

Moving with many moving boxes

My aha-moment: The birth of my daughter.

Before my daughter was born, I considered myself reasonably tidy. Everything had its place and I tidied up several times a day but it never required much thought. It wasn't until I became a parent, balancing family, household, and work, that I truly understood how much energy it takes to maintain a home where you can genuinely feel at ease.

That wasn't the life I had envisioned. I wanted to spend my free time with my daughter laughing, crafting and playing rather than constantly tidying up. I didn't want to feel stressed as toys piled up around the apartment, leaving me struggling to keep up.

A change of perspective - or: 12 moves later

Moving with my daughter in tow made every every relocation even more challenging. Yet each move revealed something unexpected: an unopened box. A box full of items I apparently no longer needed. Things that had been tucked away in the basement rather than actually used in our home.

With each move, I became more intentional. I found myself asking questions more often:

Do I even need this?

Wouldn't it be liberating to to carry, pack, and unpack less?

What if I let go of some of these things and literally shed the excess weight?

So I began to let go. Little by little. Box by box. Each move became easier – literally. And with every box I no longer had to pack and unpack, it became increasingly clear: the less I own, the more space I create - for family time, for myself, for new ideas.

My conclusion: Less things means less mental load

Because I owned less, I also had to tidy up less, sort less, dust less and repair or replace less when something broke.

This brought me a real sense of freedom. I suddenly understood how much the physical and mental baggage of possessions had weighed on me and how much time it had taken away from the things that truly matter in life.

Organisation as an invitation to conscious living

Over time, I realised that organisation is more than just a tidy closet. It is a deliberate choice for clarity, both externally and within oneself, and an invitation to live mindfully, free from items that occupy space but add little value, whether in your home or your mind.

I still witness this with my clients, particularly those preparing for a move. They want to consciously let go of belongings in order to step into their new home with as little baggage as possible. Often, however, they are unsure how to translate this intention into action. And that is precisely where I step in to guide and support them.

Less clutter. More clarity.

I've become adept at decluttering—and I know why it comes easily now: I've recognised the true value minimalism brings to my life.

Today, I apply this principle across many areas of my life—not out of obligation, but because I can feel its positive impact. I strive to live resource-consciously and make mindful choices when it comes to purchasing and consumption, ensuring that everything I bring into my life has purpose and adds value.

Minimalism? Yes, please. Perfection? No, thank you.

Family relaxes in their cozy home

Minimalism doesn't mean your home can't be cosy or that it can't include items that are simply "beautiful", because they hold meaning, bring joy, or look wonderful on a shelf.

For me, it's more about reflecting on what I truly need in my life. It's about considering whether an item genuinely makes me happy, or whether every purchase ultimately just adds more weight - physical and mental.

I bring this perspective into my coaching sessions: entirely free from dogma, yet full of enjoyment and appreciation - for both you and your home.

Reduce with sensitivity, not a raised finger

Don't worry, I'm not here to preach. My goal isn't for you to completely overhaul your life or to own as little as possible. Rather, it's about helping you rediscover what supports and energises you - and what holds you back. This balance is unique to everyone, and together we'll determine what to keep and what to let go of, thoughtfully and without pressure.

Create order, make decisions

Because it's easier together: I'm your organising sparring partner.

Let's be honest - who would willingly part with 37 perfectly good ballpoint pens? That's why we takle it together in my coaching sessions: We prioritise, declutter and create long-lasting organisation. Transforming "I really need to..." into "I'm happy here."
